Iftiin means light in Somali. I am an independent documentary filmmaker specializing in stories about people working to create a socially just society. Based in Oakland, California, I serve the non profit and foundation community by creating professional videos with crafted messaging. I am dedicated to spreading peace and progress through storytelling.
Catching Babies is complete!
Catching Babies is complete and being screened in private screenings with midwives and reproductive justice organizations in the Southwest. I am raising funds to translate the film into Spanish, submit to film festivals and to produce DVDs to donate to Maternidad La Luz School of Midwifery and Clinic and to Birth Justice organizations. Catching Babies tells the story of women as they reclaim the tradition of midwifery on the border.
